How Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy Works

Our clients can start from as early as a few months of age, or they can start in adulthood. It’s never too early or too late to begin treatment. With or without a developmental or special disabilities diagnosis, our main goal is to design an individual learning plan tailored to the client’s needs.

This is the basis of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), an evidence-based approach that understands and changes behavior to improve quality of life.  It helps children and individuals meet behavioral goals, and addresses other domains such as language and communication, social skills, play skills, and self-help skills.  ABA is very effective in helping individuals with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum, however, ABA can help anyone, regardless of diagnosis.

ABA is based on scientifically proven methods, peer-reviewed research, and well-established principles of learning, and is an evidence-based treatment for individuals on the autism spectrum or with other developmental disorders.

Above all, we recognize the human needs of those diagnosed with autism, no matter where they fall on the spectrum. We help families, friends, and your loved ones to become their own best advocates, allowing them to feel empowered and more in control of their own lives.

There are life-changing benefits that come with improving skills in the areas of language, communication, socialization, self-help, including dressing and grooming skills, toilet training, and sleep training. All of these skills lead to a more independent and fulfilling life for many with special needs.

The programs are designed to help children and individuals learn necessary skills to recognize and respond appropriately to their emotions.  Our clinicians assess and treat each individual through the therapeutic process of healthy emotional development.

Through behavior services, our team provides the therapeutic support necessary to build self-management skills in the area of emotions and behavior.

How Virtual Consultation Works: (via Telehealth HIPAA-compliant video conferencing)

Our clinicians conduct a brief assessment of behavioral challenges, suggest a plan to redirect behavior, observe behaviors as they happen, and offer immediate, appropriate feedback, and provide guidance to parents/caregivers.

Our virtual consultation program guides and provides direction to parents on implementing ABA skills learned in Parent Training.
